Voice Cleaner (keep music), Partial Deverb
The Voice Cleaner (keep music), Partial Deverb mode improves the sound of a video or audio file when the voice was recorded in a reverberant space: a room with hard surfaces, an office, a hall, or on a phone without a good microphone. It reduces echo and reverb, makes speech clearer and easier to understand, and tries to keep the background music.
It is similar to Voice Cleaner (keep music), but additionally deals with the room itself: it removes the “empty room” effect, reduces boominess and brings the voice closer to the listener.
When to Use This Mode
Choose this mode if you can hear not only noise in the recording but also the voice bouncing off walls, ceiling or furniture:
- The voice sounds hollow — as if the person is speaking in an empty room, bathroom, hallway or large space.
- There is reverb — a short “tail” after each word that makes speech blurry.
- The microphone was far away — for example, the recording was made on a phone, camera or laptop, and a lot of room sound was captured along with the voice.
- There is music in the background — regular noise removal can damage the music track, so this mode keeps the music while improving the voice.
What This Mode Does
- reduces echo and reverb
- reduces room boominess
- makes the voice clearer and closer
- improves speech intelligibility
- removes part of the background noise
- keeps background music if there is any
- makes the sound more professional without manual editing
Before Processing
In the original recording, the voice may sound distant, boomy and hard to understand. It often feels like the person is speaking in an empty room. The background music may sound fine, but the speech gets lost because of echo, room noise or a poor microphone.
After Processing
After processing, the voice becomes tighter and easier to follow. Echo and boominess are reduced, speech stands out better, and the music stays in the recording. This kind of sound is easier to listen to in videos, podcasts, interviews, lessons, Reels, YouTube videos and work materials.
How It Differs from the Regular Voice Cleaner
Voice Cleaner (keep music) mainly removes noise: street, wind, appliance hum, hiss, background sounds. Voice Cleaner (keep music), Partial Deverb additionally reduces sound reflections inside the room.
If the recording is simply noisy, the regular voice cleaner will do. If the voice sounds boomy, distant or “like in a room without furniture”, choose the mode with echo reduction.
