How AI Noise Removal Works
AI models for audio are trained on large amounts of speech and all kinds of noise. During training, the model learns to tell a human voice apart from everything else: it “knows” what speech sounds like, and what cars, wind, fans, music or room reflections sound like.
When you upload a recording, the AI denoiser breaks the sound into components, finds the voice and rebuilds it separately from the background. That’s why the noise goes away while speech stays natural — without the metallic artifacts and dropouts that regular processing often leaves.
Why AI Beats Traditional Noise Reduction
Classic noise reduction in audio editors works differently: you select a part of the recording with noise only, the program learns its “profile” and subtracts it from the whole file. Hence its limits:
- It only handles constant noise. Steady hiss or hum can be removed, but a passing car, a gust of wind, conversations or music can’t — they keep changing.
- It damages the voice. Noise and voice frequencies overlap, so strong reduction makes speech muffled and robotic.
- It needs tuning. You have to find a noise-only fragment, set the strength and check the result by ear.

- Download the result. On average, a 5-minute recording takes about 45 seconds. If the result isn’t right, try another mode.
Limitations
- The AI is built for recordings with speech. It can’t extract vocals from songs yet.
- It improves what’s in the recording but can’t restore what’s lost: distortion from an overloaded microphone and dropouts can’t be fixed.
- If the voice is almost completely buried in noise, speech will get cleaner, but intelligibility will be limited.
